This October, we’re proud to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month at Vena, aligning with the 2024 World Mental Health Day theme, "It's Time To Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace." Mental Health Awareness Month, a yearly initiative organized by our Mental Health Employee Resource Group (Mental Health VRG), aims to foster a supportive environment where mental well-being is recognized as a key component of overall employee health.

As part of this month-long campaign, Vena’s Mental Health VRG will host a variety of activities designed to promote mental well-being, including meditation and yoga sessions, a massage day, "Color Your Blues Away" events and a "What Makes You Smile/Laugh" initiatives. Employees can also join a Pages + Podcasts Club (where folks come together to discuss books and podcasts on various mental health topics), participate in a 30-Day Self-Care Challenge and sign up for Mental Health First Aid certifications and training.

Jean Goldsmith, Senior Director, Global Talent & Learning and Mental Health VRG Co-Chair shares, "At Vena, we believe that prioritizing mental health is essential for creating a thriving workplace. By offering resources and activities that promote self-care, we hope to empower our team members to take charge of their well-being inside and outside of the workplace."

Prioritizing mental health and wellness is integral to our organizational culture at Vena. We have implemented various health and wellness initiatives, such as free access for employees to the Headspace app, wellness funds and Summer Fridays, which support employees in maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We empower our workforce to cultivate a supportive environment by encouraging open discussions around mental health and well-being. Additionally, we have embedded wellness practices across the organization, such as offering Mental Health First Aid training and certifications for both leadership teams and individuals.

Through these initiatives, we hope to create a workplace where mental health is valued and prioritized year-round, explains Jean.

Join us this October as we collectively focus on mental health, encouraging open conversations and a culture of support at Vena. Together, let's prioritize mental well-being and create a healthier workplace for all.
