How To Use Our Free ESG Reporting Template for Excel
Step 1: Download the Template
Make sure you have downloaded the ESG Carbon Footprint Reporting Template. You can use any version of Excel that supports .xlsx files.
Step 2: Customize Your Template
- Open the template in Excel.
- Start off by applying your own branding. Go to Page Layout > Themes in Excel and select the theme that matches your organization's branding.
Step 3: Input Your Carbon Emission Data
- Go to the Carbon Calculator tab. This is the main sheet for entering and calculating your carbon footprint data.
- Locate the "Inputs" section where you can enter different aspects of your carbon emissions:
- Aspect: Enter the specific emission source, such as transportation or electricity use.
- Type: Specify the type of emission, such as direct or indirect.
- Units: Enter the units of measurement, such as kilograms of CO2 equivalent (kg CO2eq).
- Enter your emissions data for each year under the respective columns (from 2019 to 2024).
Step 4: Review and Analyze Your Data
- Once all the relevant data is entered, review your inputs to ensure accuracy.
- The sheet may include formulas that automatically calculate totals and other key metrics to help you analyze your carbon footprint over time.
