Vena is recognized for its outstanding corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, setting an industry benchmark in B2B technology
Toronto, ON – August 22, 2024 – Vena, the only Complete Planning platform purpose-built to amplify the power of Microsoft 365, is proud to announce that it has been honored with the TrustRadius Tech Cares Award for the fifth consecutive year. This award highlights Vena’s continued excellence in corporate social responsibility (CSR), reflecting the company’s unwavering commitment to customer success, community engagement and fostering a culture of empathy and inclusivity.
The TrustRadius Tech Cares Award celebrates companies that have gone above and beyond to support employees and communities. Vena's recognition in 2024 is based on key areas of focus, including:
- Sustainability and the Environment: Vena’s Green Team drives eco-friendly efforts, from implementing biophilic design into their Toronto office (which is located in a recycled building), executing robust recycling and composting initiatives and maintaining a rooftop community garden. They also support community organizations such as St. Felix Respite Centre and Habitat for Humanity and have participated in group events, including World Clean Up Day and the CN Tower Climb.
- Volunteerism and Community Impact: Employees get one Volunteer Day per year to volunteer for any cause they support or can participate in company-sponsored volunteer days to foster team building and community service.
- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI): Vena’s DEI strategy is built around four pillars, which guide initiatives across recruitment, training and employee experience. Key programs include allyship education, forums on microaggressions and partnerships with external organizations such as the GetReal Movement. Vena also maintains transparency by sharing DEI findings with leaders and employees through its intranet and town halls.
- Employee Well-Being and Development: The Vena Cares employee resource group, which organizes initiatives such as Wellness Week, plays a key role in promoting overall well-being within the company. Additionally, Vena’s Mental Health employee resource group organizes events throughout the year, such as Learning Labs with mental health professionals and experts, mindfulness and meditation sessions, gratitude practices, stress reduction and journaling sessions. Each year, the team devotes the entire month of October to raising mental health awareness, raising its voices against stigma and cultivating support in the workplace.
- Support for Women in Technology: Sixty percent of Vena’s executive leadership team is comprised of women, far surpassing the industry average of 24% for women in tech C-suites. Vena's commitment to supporting women in technology is also exemplified by its Network for Women (N4W) employee resource group which helps foster a supportive and inclusive workplace. N4W empowers women through various initiatives, including meditation sessions, art installations and storytelling campaigns. The group celebrates Women's History Month and International Women’s Day with events such as social gatherings, film screenings and informative sessions. N4W also encourages physical well-being and team spirit through participation in events such as MudGirl, a women’s obstacle race.
- Educational Support Initiatives: Vena supports employee education through its Education Reimbursement Program, offered annually for career-relevant learning, including conferences, online courses and professional association fees. The program encourages diverse learning opportunities, even in areas outside of an employee's current role. Vena also partners with external providers such as Speaker Labs and Blue Rebel Works to deliver workshops and coaching, making it easier for employees to enhance their skills and maximize their education subsidy.
“We’re incredibly proud to receive the TrustRadius Tech Cares Award for the fifth year in a row,” said Hunter Madeley, CEO of Vena. “This honor validates our deep commitment to our employees' mental health and well-being and recognizes the importance of giving back to the community. When we care for each other, we not only achieve success, but also make a real, positive impact in the world. This award inspires us to continue building programs and initiatives that support our employees both personally and professionally.”
